Viking - Spear
Viking - Spear
Viking Spear has a medium-fine grind with moist texture and medium nicotine strength. The blend centres on spearmint with spicy and smoky secondary notes. The tobacco base is described as having a natural mint character rather than an artificial spearmint candy scent.
Tasting notes include spearmint, tobacco, and mint with subtle spiced elements. The smoky undertone adds depth to the mint profile. The grind and moisture level make this accessible for beginners.

A pleasant spearmint snuff dark brown and a good beginners snuff , the spearmint is not overpowering and could be a little stronger, having said that it’s a snuff you can use all day . Nicotine level is medium I witnessed no burn and it lingers in the nose for some time after the initial pinch.
If you wanted more of a prominent spearmint flavour then go for Wilson’s crumbs of comfort that is definitely
Stringer in the spearmint aroma.
But above all a nice snuff by Viking!
la mejor hierba buena que probe,
la primera impresion es la menta ,no arde la nariz no tiene quemadura, uno de los mejores rapes que probe , suabe ,delicioso con vitamina n y de una naturalidad increible.
A bit of a tooth paste vibe at first. But that's the bad-- it aired out a little bit allowing the good fermented tobacco through in the nose, and I suspect I just acquired a taste for this particular spearmint scent. It's not like crumbs of comfort, really. I liked this, and would probably get more when I'm out, though that will likely be a while as I use this one only occasionally. comparable nicotine to Viking Dark, and pretty much the same coarseness/moisture.
This is an excellent snuff. Coming from someone that has not tried a large variety of snuffs -- this particular snuff has shown me that you can truly have a wonderful tobacco taste while still an enjoyable flavored (mint) snuff.
I must respectfully disagree with others who claim the spearmint here isn't strong enough. Yes, the tobacco base flour is very rich and delicious, and would be wonderful on its own. However, what puts this snuff into my Top 5 is indeed the mint. Some spearmints have an artificial "spearmint candy" scent, but the Viking provides the scent of strong, fresh spearmint cut from the garden. It compares favorably with Wilson's Crumbs of Comfort, a favorite of mine, but the Viking wins by a nose. The mint is fresher, the grind seems more coarse and therefore is easier to take in large pinches. Moisture is medium, the color is deep and rich. Also, this is one snuff that is very comfortable to take from a bullet. I carry this one in my pocket most days and return to it often throughout the day. I consider this an excellent beginner snuff, especially if one adores the scent of fresh mint leaves. Hint: In the unlikely event that you need to re-moisten the tobacco, snuggle a fresh mint leaf into the tin, seal it tightly and return to the tin after a couple days' time. While we're on the subject of tins, hooray for Viking for sealing this jewel in a vacuum tin. The tins are exceedingly difficult to open, but the prize waiting within is well worth the effort. Upon opening the tin, you'll get a mild whiff of ammonia which quickly disappates over an evening's airing. Buy this one if you love fresh mint. I cannot imagine anyone who would not enjoy this or give it less than its deserved 5 stars.
