Deciphering the complex bouquet of Princes Special is a task for a nose sharper than mine. Let me just say that the traditional ingredients of geranium and musk are the stars of the show, with an intricate tapestry of scents backing them up. There's a citrus note I can't quite identify (lemon or citron, perhaps?), and sometimes I get hints of sandalwood, rose and tonquin. But the whole is much more than the sum of its parts.
PS is a dark brown, fluffy, moist snuff, but not so moist as to be heavy. The dark tobacco base adds a pleasant earthy, leathery element to the fragrance. It dries out quickly when decanted to a snuffbox, but remains quite enjoyable no matter the moisture level. Nicotine is just a tad above average. Highly recommended to fans of complex florals.
