Bernard Aecht Alt Schmalzler is a traditional blend of fermented Rustica that delivers a moist and buttery texture and provides a fruity sweetness reminiscent of dried fruit. This is a complex tobacco product that has a substantial nicotine hit and should be experienced as an old fashioned schmalzler snuff.

Available in a convenient 10 g dispenser.

oh boy

This snuff packs quite the wollop of nicotine. I get a strong taste of plums. My first rustica! Would definitely recommend as long as you can handle some drip.

Oh Tannenbaum!

Although an Altbayerischer Schmalzler sounds like something a dirty Bavarian old man might offer you in a dark Munich Gaße after getting wasted at Octoberfest (not to cast aspersions on dirty old Bavarian men in dimly lit alleyways), this really is remarkable stuff. Fluffy, moist and coarsely ground with a nicotine hit that hardens the nipples, this schnupftabak tastes like Figgy Pudding and provokes early onset Parkinson’s disease. Made from fermented Brazilian Rustica tobacco, this buttery snuff tastes like Christmas and leads to sugar plums dancing in your head. Great with dark rum like Venezuelan Diplomatico, this product definitely machts süchtig.

On of my favorites

Even if you are not a schmalzler fan, this is a bucket list snuff that everyone should try. It is dark, rich, and sweet; molasses and maple hints. As another reviewer noted, it goes great with black coffee or tea and has a fantastic nicotine hit - a really good nicotine hit. The grind is a tad sandy, but overall this doesn't detract from a very nice, unique snuff experience.

I was expecting a sweet schmalzer when I first tried this and was very surprised by the pleasing dark tobacco, molasses and faint vinegar scent. The scent reminds me of old wooden novelty shops; it is really good snuff.

I've just got around to trying this after receiving it six days ago; couldn't put down the Magic Moments xD. First thing I've noticed about this snuff is it's very smokey. Very noticeable nicotine kick, too. It's a pleasant, easy to take snuff.
