Scenting snuff with essential oil on cotton

TechniquesBeginner

From bakdoor on the Snuffhouse forum, 2010

Tobacco picks up smells easily, so you can scent a snuff with very little oil, or with none in the snuff at all. Put the oil on a piece of cotton, seal it in with the snuff, and the scent moves across on its own.

If you choose bergamot, use a bergapten-free (FCF) oil. Keep neat oil off your skin and out of your eyes.

Notes

Bergamot, clove, lavender, rose, orange flower, peppermint and black pepper have all been used this way. Use pure essential oils only, never a perfume or fragrance oil. If you keep the cotton apart from the snuff, the oil never touches it.
