Perique snuff from cigarettes

Eight or nine American Spirit Perique cigarettes, emptied and ground into 4.6 g of tobacco flour, and left unscented because perique is distinctive enough on its own.

A few days. An earlier batch lost its ammonia smell at about 5 days.
Notes
The original post was written before the snuff was tried, so the result isn't known. Baking soda is a weak alkali on its own, so sodium carbonate may work better.
