Making a slaked-lime snuff stronger

A fix for a snuff that's too mild. The batch in question was about 78% tobacco, 16% water, 3% slaked lime and 3% salt, and 3% alkali only gives low to medium strength.

Notes
The original post says some very strong snuffs contain up to 12.5% alkali, and it keeps slaked lime to 6% at most, making up any extra with sodium carbonate, and only for an extra-strong snuff. Wear gloves and keep these alkalis out of your eyes.
