Wilsons Jockey Club has a fine grind with moderate moisture and low to medium nicotine. The scent is floral-forward with violet, bergamot, and citrus notes including grapefruit and lemon. The blend includes vanilla and sandalwood as secondary notes.

The floral character is strong and the scent is heavily applied. The base uses a talc foundation with Virginia tobacco. This is a scented snuff rather than a tobacco-forward blend.

This snuff leans to the medium-low end of nicotine with minimal nose burn, though this offsets any notion of not being able to feel the vitamin N. The moisture content is moderate to high, even in the tap-tin; this snuff has retained a great deal of moisture, which is impressive considering the fine grind. Medium-fine in grind and with a slightly fluffy texture, this blend is mostly in line with other English snuffs. Light brown throughout, it's friendly to use, though the fine grind does require a gentle sniff, the ample moisture helps to make this snuff easy to hold in the nose.

Jockey Club steps out of the tin with a bold bouquet, florals lead the charge, but they don't act alone. Notes of violet, lilac, and a handful of other perfumed blooms swirl together in a refined muddle, rising up in a way that feels classic. These florals aren't shy, they're powdered, fragrant, and present from the start. Rather than isolating themselves, the notes blend and dance in the nose, shifting slightly with each breath. On the second or third pinch, a subtle citrus note emerges, not bright or sharp, but soft, like the peel of grapefruit or lemon water. It doesn't cut through the florals, it floats among them, lending lift to the bouquet without pulling attention away. There's a whisper of bergamot beneath it all, adding body to the experience.

The whole blend rides on a clean talc base that's reminiscent of Woods of Windsor True Rose, but more restrained and masculine. The grind is fine, with enough moisture to make for an easy pinch and a comfortable hold. This is a snuff made for slow moments and long afternoons. It's something a gentleman might keep at his side during the races, pinching with ease between conversations. For those who enjoy a floral-forward snuff with a touch of citrus and an air of tailored elegance, Jockey Club delivers a dignified experience that holds up to new and experienced snuffer alike.
