Wilsons Diplomat has a fine grind with light moisture and low nicotine strength. The tasting notes include apricot, menthol, blackberry, citrus, and natural tobacco. The menthol note is present but mild, allowing the fruit flavours to remain the primary notes.

The blend uses floral notes and cinnamon as secondary elements. The apricot note is the strongest of the fruit components, with blackberry and citrus providing additional fruit character. The tobacco base is understated in this mentholated snuff.

This snuff contains a moderate amount of Vitamin N. The lightly mentholated and fruit-based make this easy to take. The moisture content is moderate, leaning slightly to the moist side. I have this product in a tap tin, so it may be more moist when presented in a traditional tin, as these tap tins don't hold the snuff in an airtight way. Medium-fine in grind and with a slightly fluffy texture, this blend is mostly in line with other English snuffs, with a darker brown colour and long flecks of dark tan. The metholated and fruit base, along with ample moisture and slightly less fine grind, make this easy to use.

Diplomat greets you with a delightful blend of sweet, floral notes and a gentle fruity overtone. While some detect a hint of apricot, the overall impression to me is a soft, fruit-like sweetness that sits lightly in the nose. I find traces of apricot and a hint of date. There's a subtle menthol presence, providing a mild cooling sensation that doesn't overpower the delicate bouquet. Though the trinity of medicated snuffs is present, this snuff is very lightly medicated. There was no major sinus clearing or post-nasal drip as I enjoyed this snuff throughout the day.

The grind and moisture are a hair coarser and moister than other English snuffs. As the initial floral and fruity notes gently fade, you're left with just the faintest hint of earthy warmth as the lightest camphor and eucalyptus fade in and out. This subtle earthiness adds a touch of complexity without ever becoming dominant, making Diplomat a wonderfully balanced snuff. It's perfect for a warm summer day when you want something light and refreshing, or even a cozy fall evening when you're looking for a gentle, comforting aroma. Overall, Diplomat offers a harmonious blend of flavours that will easily find its place in your regular rotation. This blend is easy to use, but not unique in its presentation or nose notes. Experienced snuffers may seek out a bolder trinity or a more complex fruit base.
