This snuff has a very friendly level of nicotine, a snuff that can be used all day or night without a head rush. Though, if you are looking for a strong pick me up this may not fit the bill. Fine Keg is an English style snuff that presents out of the tin with a blend of hop blossom and citrus. The slightly bitter hop is blended with a lightly sweet and fragrant blossom. There is a distinct difference in how the citrus notes come through with the blossom as a carrier. These notes present as separate voices in a rational debate. Each presents an aspect, hoppy goodness, a floral undertone, and a brush of citrus. They go back and forth and in some areas even find agreement and harmony.
The tobacco is a lighter brown leaning tan, uniformly coloured. It has a fine grind, and an English style level of moisture, which is to say on the drier side, with minimal clumping in the tin. For the McChrystals family this is just a hair drier over Highland Ice for comparison. The finer grind with the aforementioned lack of moisture make this snuff a bit tricky to boxcar. A pinch was superior to me to help control the release. The rush of citrus and floral notes if sniffed too harshly can result in a coughing fit.
Thus is this snuff, a well blended mix of notes that can be enjoyed as easily outside on a nature walk, or in the bar/pub with a great beer. If you've enjoyed smokers blend you will find a home in having this snuff in your rotation.
