Paul Gotard Black Knight is one of the better snuffs from Paul Gotard. It does have enough complexity to be interesting and no menthol to get in the way of the tobacco and other flavors. Essentially, this is a medium-coarse, moist, dark, floral snuff, and it does have a hint of sweetness.

The style and grind remind me of some of the dark English snuffs, Princes Dark and Cob Dark spring to mind. And the flavoring is similar to those as well. Not bad at all, and enjoyable snuff.

Paul Gotard Black Night 7g

I'm torn between a 3 and a 4 on this one. The granules are just a tiny bit larger than the others in this line, and it pours out of the container much more easily than the others. It's described as being a floral flavoring, but you won't notice it on the first use because there's a sort of light minty sweetness your nose will have to adjust to first. After that, you'll be left with a scent of flower pressings that lingers far longer than most of these Gotard flavors. If you like flower pressings, this is probably a great snuff for you - I only need to be reminded of my grandmother once in a while though.

This is my first try of the Gotard line. The tin is very cool and will make a great daily plastic tapbox. The snuff itself is exciting. This is one with no menthol. The grind is on the medium side of coarse and not too clumpy. You can still see the tiny strands of tobacco. The snuff is as black as night and moist as well. There seems to be musk, sandalwood and rose at the front of the nose as well as other flavors. There is a significant burn that could deter me from ever getting more of this. It reminds me of Fribourg and Treyer snuffs like Macouba. The nicotine is just present, but this is more of a sense snuff to take a box with you on a long walk taking deep breaths through the nose and evoking a very exotic smell.
