CUSTOMER REVIEW: I am very glad Dholakia decided to make a black snuff. I am even more glad that they made it a non-perfumed, non-mentholated one. They really are on top of their game when they make traditional Indian blends. I don't know how this is so incredibly black in color, or how they make it, but they have done a wonderful job.
This snuff is quite fine, but has a bit more moisture that allows it to clump, or to smear if you get it on your hands or clothes. Its incredibly potent in nicotine and reasonably easy to take. A snuff spoon makes the taking of it a bit more tidy. The aroma is probably going to be a turn-off for a beginner.
It has a very "natural" scent, that may remind one of barnyards or zoos, or even the elephant parade at the circus. Once accustomed to it, the smell is less important. It's not a daily snuff for me, but I love having it on hand when I need a good long lasting nicotine buzz, that only Taxi and Ntsu usually provide. It will cause my nose to both run and drip into my throat which is its only drawback. Makes a mess of white hankies!
This snuff is interesting, it's not like other products out there so for that alone it's something good to try out. The powder is extremely fine so you want to be careful, and I actually dab it on a finger and swipe it in instead of worrying about sniffing it up too high in the nasal passages. Despite the fine grind, it's not dry, which is a pleasant surprise. I actually wish this snuff was a little mentholated or flavored, because as it stands, it doesn't really smell like anything. There's a slight herbal quality to it, a little like dirt or mud but not unpleasantly so, however that alone leaves you with a rather bland experience, so I find myself using other snuffs in combination with it. Everyone says the nicotine is very high in this product, which is one reason I tried it, but I can't detect anything substantial enough to use it for that reason alone. I do tend towards most, medium ground snuffs as my favorite, so others might like this one more, and I would guess it is better than the dry roasts out there, but still not an exciting kick or flavor or nic hit for me.

Pretty straightforward plain tobacco snuff with a very earthly scent. A LOT of nicotine in this one. Still quite easy to sniff thanks to being quite moist. That earthiness reminds me of Makla Neffa Ifrikia wich I also didn't like that much. So my search for the perfect high nicotine snuff will continue (takes a pinch of Taxi Red... :) ) 2 out of 5 for being high on nic.

Have been away from snuff for about 4 years. Started back up about 6 mounths ago. Decided to try Dholakia Black. Certainly different. The tin smell may put a few off, but don't let that bother you once it is in the nose the barn yard smell is gone. Robust tobacco taste. Good nic hit. This one is a keeper.

I'm still kind of new to snuff (2-3 months), but my technique is getting there. Anyway, it took me forever to finally get the technique to take this snuff. It's fine, but it's pretty moist so it's pretty tricky. It has an adulterated scent like a farm. It has a pretty good nicotine hit too. I usually use a spoon on this snuff because it gets all over your hands. Also, it leaks black from my nose, so this is not the kind of snuff I would do anywhere except when I'm at home. It's an alright snuff, but I just prefer Neffa Ifrika to this.
