It took me a while to write this review because it took me a while to fully appreciate everything this blend offers.
First impression was that it seemed dry, was quite coarse, has a very good, deep and earthy tobacco smell with hints of dark fruit. Smells similar to a good brown rope tobacco, likely owing to the kentucky leaf. Has a hellacious backdrip burn. The texture almost made me wonder if it was meant to be dipped rather than snuffed.
After using it for a while, wow! The nic hit was quite satisfying from the start, but it took a little while for my nose to puck up on all the subtle hints of plum and earth and other indescribable scents that are wonderful and blend perfectly. The moisture is just right even though it seems dry. The grind is coarse but it seems to make the absorption slower and thus the scent develops over time rather than right away. Backdrip still burns like hell.
If i could only have one blend for the rest of my life, this would be it.
One of the better, if not the best rapee, which I hane to deal with, what make her one of the best two snuffs from Sir Walter Scott's.

A truly magical offering from SWS! This is not an all day snuff?she is a dark and mysterious beauty who only reveals herself to those who deeply contemplate her sensual delights.
The overwhelming scent from the tin is one of saltwater, with subtle notes of smoke and leather. Once in the nose, however, these initial aromas develop into a long-lasting masterpiece of olfactory bliss.
Personally, I am transported to a comfortable chair beside a fireplace in a library full of rare books: where aromas of old parchment, leather-bound first editions, and burning wood entrance the mind and captivate the senses.
